Caution! Wet Paint!

Actually, it's wet ink,
but paint sounded better.
A random page in a journal I was given a while back.
The pages are brown kraft paper,
which makes it 'interesting' to work with;
or a pain depending on your viewpoint!

This is gesso,
torn pages,
skeleton leaves,
paper flowers,
distress ink,
and finally a healthy dose of spray ink,
(which is taking ages to dry)

  1. You took stuff and turned it into a treasure found in the back of an old bookshop, on the owner's table beside a cup of tea and bottles of ink. Nice!

  2. This looks like lots of fun in spite of all the hassle. I like the translucent effect that you get.

  3. I've never worked with, or even seen, kraft paper before. The amount of work you did to cover over it is amazing. I do actually like the look you achieved. Although I don't, because I prefer the bolder look from the sprays, I've seen you can use paper towels to get rid of some of the ink, thus shortening the drying time. I'm glad you didn't take the quick fix drying method.

  4. It looks great - like it hung in the storm for several days... a 'wild nature' page... love it!
